Installation
All Critical Fire Protection installations are completed by experienced industry professionals. Your installer will complete all work to your specifications as outlined in your custom design. All of our fire protection systems are installed in accordance with all local and national fire codes. During the installation process, we first design a system based on your space and requirements. Your installer works closely with the fire marshal to ensure your design is up to all local and national codes. Next, we will coordinate and supervise all of the trades needed for your installation. We then present your system to the fire marshall for final inspection. Lastly, we bring everything on line and spend time making sure that you understand all of the functionality of your new fire protection system.
Inspection and Testing
Inspection and testing are not only required by local and national fire codes, but also ensures your life safety system functions most efficiently when you need it most. Your technician will meticulously inspect all parts of your system and conduct full functional testing in accordance with NFPA guidelines or local codes.
All tests are conducted in accordance with regulations for your specific suppression system. We will work with you to set an inspection and testing schedule that ensures your life safety system is always ready for any emergency that may arise. Your Critical Fire Protection technician will coordinate all scheduled inspections & testing between all of your fire protection system devices. We will also work with you to track all upcoming testing and help you plan to keep your systems running at their best.
Repair and Maintenance
Proper maintenance extends the life of a fire protection system, eliminates expensive false emergency calls, and guarantees that your system will protect lives and property in the event of an emergency
Our technicians provide scheduled maintenance for all aspects of your system and are able to complete any needed repairs. If anything is noted in an inspection requiring regular maintenance, such as replacing batteries or filters, your technician can forecast their replacement & help budget for when your system is due for service. Critical Fire Protection will also help you track & maintain equipment that expires, is past its service life, or requires regular maintenance so you can budget time & money.
Customizable Solutions
Previously the most commonly used fire suppression agent in the data center industry. Starting January 1, 2022, the reduction in production of this agent began causing the new sale price of the agent to increase dramatically. Although new systems can still be designed and installed, the new increase in costs and the eventual phase out of the chemical make this solution much less appealing than in years past. We anticipate that the agent will still be available on the secondary market at a reasonable rate for repairs but please consult your design expert for consideration for any new installations regarding this product.
Novec has been the agent of choice for customers wanting to have an environmentally friendly alternative for many years and has now become the most common alternative to FM-200 after the first phase down of HFCs started at the beginning of 2022. Recent announcements from the manufacturer may make this agent not as relevant as once hoped but Novec 1230 is a zero ozone depletion agent that is the most widely used alternative to FM200.
Another viable alternative to the use of FM-200 as no current government restrictions are in place for this suppressant. Since code concentration levels are suggested at 9% for class C fires, it does not require as much agent to be utilized to suppress the same amount of hazard area volume as some of the other agents and therefore is sometimes a cheaper alternative but is still an effective option.
Inergen is another environmentally low impact agent that uses a mixture of natural gases that are already prevalent in our earth’s atmosphere to provide a displacement of the room air and extinguish a fire. Although Inergen has environmentally present gasses such as nitrogen and hydrogen, a small amount of CO2 mixed with it helps increase respiration.

CO2 is a widely used suppressant option for equipment and unoccupied spaces. CO2 is not an option for occupied spaces and is DEADLY to humans.
An agent previously used in the industry but was found to have negative effects (research specifics) that caused the manufacturer to halt production of the product and recommend the removal of all existing systems in service. Although this agent isn’t as prevalent in the field today, they do exist and make your contractor aware if you see this agent being utilized in your facility.

Air Sampling is an integral component of fire protection and Critical Fire Protection are experts in the field. Air sampling provides an early warning before a fire expands and develops into a hazard causing property damage, or even worse, loss of life. This type of system has proven to be robust, long lasting and provide the fewest amounts of false alarms. When properly inspected and maintained by a qualified contractor, Air Sampling can be the most affordable and most effective form of detection with a fire system.
Critical Fire Protection will work with you to understand your space and design a sprinkler system to protect your business. While sprinklers may seem simple, we know that many factors contribute to the effectiveness of your sprinkler when it counts most.
We work with leading manufacturers to bring you industry leading sprinkler systems that you can rely on to guard against leaks or false system activation that could lead to costly repairs or downtime.
We install service and maintain the majority of sprinkler systems, preaction systems are the most commonly used in our industry. Although water located above a server room may not always be the best option, when it is appropriate it is imperative to maintain to avoid potentially costly repairs or downtime in the event of a leak or activation of the system. Proper maintenance and knowledge can help limit risks for the customer.
